Plesk Install guide for Ubuntu

The short of it is basically the same as debian, straight-forward "enter pressing" except the quick pre-reqs

[edit] Download the psa_installer

# apt-get install lftp
# lftp download1.swsoft.com
> cd Plesk/Plesk8.1/Ubuntu6.06/
> get psa_installer_v3.1.0_build061201.02_os_Ubuntu_6.06_i386
> quit

[edit] Check your pre-requisites

[edit] /etc/hosts

Edit your hosts file so that the hostname command works properly Example /etc/hosts

302.400.555.212    hostname.domain.com hostname

Test your configuration ....

# hostname -f
hostname.domain.com
# hostname
hostname

[edit] /etc/apt/sources.list

Uncomment the universe repositories in the /etc/apt/sources.list, the lines should look similar to those below

deb http://au.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ dapper universe
deb-src http://au.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ dapper universe

then update your apt database

# apt-get update

Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:
